The Great "'Cene Change" That Made Civilization Possible

Theater aficionados know that noise and commotion behind the curtain during the intermission of a theatrical performance intensify anticipation. Then, when the curtain rises again, the audience sees that the scene has been radically altered, and the "wow" factor is heightened.
